Sorry it has been so long but one day kind of blends into another so it has been pretty routine for most of this year.

We are down to our last 60 some odd days of this mission.  We should end things up here at the St George on September 13th.  Our grand plan to head our that day has been delayed a bit as our grand daughter, Elyse, won't be baptized until September 29th due to Matthew's new job schedule.  He won't be back in town until then. So, we have a little time to goof off before taking off for Nevada.  however, we do need to head back to Kalifornia to be released and pick up our stuff.

We are buying a house here in St George, specifically over in Washington (actually referred to locally as Washington Fields).  It should have enough room in it for grand kinds and others to visit.  It is supposed to be done August 23rd.  They are a tad bit behind schedule but that is OK.  There is a lot of construction going on here in the St George area and a great shortage of construction workers.

Latest pict of the house.  They were working on it on Saturday, getting ready to roof it.  The walls are up, most of the rough plumbing and electrical are done, windows are in, some of the cement has been laid.

 

This back side will be surrounded by cinder block fencing and a couple of gates.  Lots of glass there.  We just went in and picked out the curtains for the house so that's done.  Should be a nice, last place for us.  Only 104 today.

We did go back to California to see Allye baptized.  Had a great visit and worked on some issues we needed to finalize for the move to St George.  
 

Took the Extraterrestrial Highway back home.  When people talk about over crowding, they obviously have never been on this highway or most of the backroads in Nevada.  We even did some in California on the way back that were equally as deserted and long.

 

The birthday girl wanted a "Donut Cake" so that is what she got as Nanna lit the candles while everyone watched and sang.

 

Trying to get any number of Segers to all smile and look good at any given time is prit near impossible.  I took half a dozen shots and this was as good as it was gonna get.  The youngest was having no part of it... Garret, Aaron, Allye, Elyse, Hailye, and Avrye (L to R).

  We are training our replacements here at the ROC.  The Marstons.  They have a Down Syndrome son with them that is in his early 40's and is high functioning.  He works with us for 3 days then goes over to the temple for 2 days a week.  He is a very loving person and a joy to be around.  Brightens up everyone's day when he comes in.  Elder Marston has an extensive IT background and has no problem picking up on the stuff I've been doing.  It will all work out for the ROC, I'm sure.   

It has been somewhat cooler this year, compared to last year, so far.  Or I am getting used to it.  I just don't plan on going outside at 5 PM on a hot day.

I'm being treated for some issues with my spine as I have a compressed L4/L5 vertebrae.  I've had a series of shots and will have a radiofrequency treatment to see if they can loosen things up a bit around my spine.  I also just found out I have the beginnings of cataracts in both my eyes so getting older sucks.

Arlene had some surgery on her tendon to lengthen it a bit to reduce the stress on her heal.  We'll see if that reduces the pain she's been experiencing.

Other than that, things are moving right along.  We've done a million records.  the staff is beginning to realize we will be gone in only a few weeks so they are trying to figure out what will happen then.  I remind them that, Frankly, Scralet, it's not my problem.  I've been trying to tell you my time was coming for some time.  But, the Marstons will do well.  the Lord will provide and they have another couple that is supposed to come in September sometime.  I don't think they will be our replacements though.  I can't teach them all I know in a couple of days.

Keep up the good fight.  It will be better.  Love you all.
