The first area you go to is the carriage room. It is attached to the house and is enclosed. |
These are original main beams and cross beams. |
The kitchen fireplace is finished also the same way. |
This is one of the original door handles on one of the doors. There are only two in the house that are still there. This is a pretty well made door handle. |
One of the sitting rooms in the Johnson Farm House. Notice the green trim around the windows. This is original paint when they were prepping the house for tours. |
This is a living room. In those days they had a bed in these rooms. They painted the floor tiles bright colors so this room has these awful colors. |
The reason they know what color the tiles were is this portion of the floor tiles were not repainted and show the original coloring. |
Upstairs they could have hired help sleep in their own beds and have considerable comfort when sleeping. this area is above the carriage area when we first came in. |
Here we are on the front steps of the ranch house, the very same steps that Joseph Smith spoke from on many occasions. |
Here is the house taken from out in the front. |
This is the rest of the ranch area behind the house. It is worked on and leased out for local farmers to work crops during the summer. |
